Karnataka
Karnataka offers flexible options for adopting rooftop solar systems with financial benefits and grid integration for various consumer categories.
Consumer Categories and Capacities
Low Tension (LT) Single Phase:
- Voltage: 240V
- Capacity: Up to 5 kWp
- Metering Type: Net Metering, Gross Metering
Low Tension (LT) Three Phase:
- Voltage: 415V
- Capacity: 5 kWp to 50 kWp
- Metering Type: Net Metering, Gross Metering
High Tension (HT):
- Voltage: 11 kV and above
- Capacity: Above 50 kWp
- Metering Type: Gross Metering Only
Metering Options
Net Metering:
- Energy exported to the grid is offset against imported energy, reducing electricity bills.
- Ideal for domestic and small commercial users.
Gross Metering:
- All generated solar energy is sold to the grid at a pre-determined tariff.
- Recommended for large-scale and industrial users.
